Bookings for this tour have closed
This three-day Wairarapa tour provides the perfect opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren (aged 5 to 12 years) to have a blast and enjoy time together during the Summer school holidays. The itinerary is designed to keep children happy and has plenty to interest grandparents as well.
Travelling as part of a small group means personalised service from your driver/guide and the chance to get to know others in the group.
On the first day we will be treated to a guided tour of Kahikatea Gardens in Greytown where we will also meet funny, friendly farm animals. In the afternoon we will be hosted for afternoon tea at Llandaff historic homestead and take a ride in a beautifully restored vintage car. On day two we will see Manukura, the unusual white kiwi bird, and other wildlife at Pukaha Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre. We will also have fun exploring and choosing activities at Queen Elizabeth Park in the afternoon. Day three includes a play stop at Carterton's Carrington Park and a picnic lunch and games at Kaitoke reserve.
We will stay at the Copthorne Solway Park which has excellent recreational facilities (swimming pools, trampoline, games room, outdoor play equipment...). This is a guaranteed boredom-free zone!!
